A heartfelt thank you to Westlake Regional Hospital

Thanks to Westlake Hospital and especially the Emergency Room staff, beautiful little Ruby Ann has a really good chance at life. Parents and grandparents ask for the prayers of all for her continued improvement

By Grandpa Charles Miller

I can remember, when I was growing up, that people were more apt to voice appreciation than criticism.

That being said, I would like to express my sincerest appreciation and gratitude to Westlake Hospital and especially to the emergency room staff.

Last Friday night, around midnight, my wife arrived at the E.R. door with our daughter-in-law, Katherine Miller.

She was in premature labor at 26 weeks, due to complications, and the E.R. staff went out of there way to treat Katherine and save the life of our beautiful granddaughter, Ruby Ann.

Ruby only weighed 1 pound, 6 ounces, and at just over 10 inches long, was very fragile. The staff coordinated transport to Taylor County Hospital and also emergency response with Kosair Hospital in Louisville. Without that effort, there would have been no chance of survival.

Ruby is resting comfortably at Kosair Hospital and is progressing in her development as well as can be expected, breathing on her own, and all organs are working well. She still has a long way to go, but, thanks to Westlake Hospital, she will have a really good chance at life.

Mom and dad Miller, Grandma and Grandpa Miller covet your prayers and will be eternally grateful to all who have gone out of there way on behalf of little Ruby Ann.
