Two airlifted to Louisville following Coburg accident

With one photo

Two people were airlifted to Louisville following a three car collision on KY 55 at Coburg this morning at approximately 9:14amCT.

Marilyn Neuman, 54 Campbellsville, KY, and Ricky Collins, 43, Campbellsville, KY drivers of different vehicles, were airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital.



The driver of a third vehicle, William A. Murrell, 72, Columbia, was not injured.

State Police said that Murrell, driving a 2001 Chevy pickup, pulled out onto KY 55 from the Coburg store traveling south. Marilyn Neuman was operating a 2002 Mazda 636, traveling south on KY 55 and struck the Murrell vehicle in the rear. The Neuman vehicle flipped over several times and went airborne and struck a 1997 Dodge, operated by Ricky Collins, who was traveling north on KY 55.

All three drivers were belted, according to Kentucky State Police.

The accident caused serious injuries to at 2 persons who were airlifted from the accident site near the Taylor County line on Hwy 55 at Coburg in Adair County."
