Feedback: Getting down Montgomery, up Graded Hill was tough Letters and Feedback Written in response to photo of Montgomery Hill in snowtime Ed: And now it's blacktop and very little snow compared to walking to Columbia Grade School in the 50''s. We had big snows then. No matter, we still had to go up and down Montgomery Hill. s/Jim Beard Jim: You are so right. The kids of today don't know how hard we had it. The hardships you mention don't include the times one of us would fall in the creek, or break through the ice. It's a wonder we didn't lose fingers and toes to frostbite. It really was uphill both ways, too. -ED This story was posted on 2008-01-23 06:27:15
