Obituary: William T. (W.T.) Collins, 84, WWII hero from Adair Co.

Mr. Collins was a member of a respected Adair County family who leaves several relatives here. Funeral will be at New Albany, IN; burial will be in Shelbyville, IN.

William T. (W.T.) Collins, 84, of Floyds Knobs, IN, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at his home.

A native of Adair County, KY, he was a son of the late Millard and Nona McFarland Collins. He was retired from Ford Motor Company, and was a decorated Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II. Mr. Collins was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church.



He was preceded in death by his wife, Berdie Mae Collins.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two sons: Travis and his wife Margaret Collins, Atlanta, GA; and Gary and his wife Jeanne Collins, New Albany, IN

  • Two brothers: James Collins and Bob Collins, both of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Mattie Collins, Columbia

  • Seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren
The funeral service will be Saturday, January 19, 2008, at 1:00pmET/NoonCT, at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook, Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Home in New Albany, IN, with burial in Grove Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, IN.

Visitation will be Friday, January 18, 2008, from 1:00pmET/NoonCT-8:00pmET/7:00pmCT and after 9:00amET/8:00amCT on Saturday, January 19, 2008, before the funeral.
