Adair County wild for Amberee's Deal or No Deal application Everybody invited to Culver City, CA, if Amberee's application is successful. "Just help us get on," her mother pleads. Petitions are at many places around town. links, photos with this story By Ed Waggener With help from Patty Nall, Amberee's Mom Amberee Coomer, Columbia, KY, may be on the No. 2 ranked television show in America, NBC's "Deal or No Deal," hosted by Howie Mandel. Amberee is the wife of Chris Coomer, and the mother of three children. She is director of the Therapeutic Rehabilitation at Adanta here. She has the enthusiastic support of a huge number of Adair Countians, including CJE Ann Melton and Mayor Pat Bell, her clients at Adanta, and, not unexpectedly, her mom, Patty Nall, her hardest working campaign manager. In fact, Adair County may be emptied, temporarily, if her application is successful. Her mom, who works in the Adair County Judge Executive's office, is one of her biggest supporters, and has everyone in the office excited. The unabashedly proud mother says everyone is welcome to come! "Even if it means we just leave the Columbia Police and Adair County Sheriff's Department behind to watch the town. "Judge Melton and her staff are going with Amberee if she gets a chance to say "No Deal," when the show is taped in Culver City, CA, she said. "Amberee's appearance has to be good publicity for Adair County," the CJE said. It just depends on Amberee's efforts being successful. If it is, a big part of the county is expected to off to Culver City, CA, for the taping of her first appearance on "Deal or No Deal." Game is based on instincts and raw intuition The game is one in which "Contestants play and deal for a top prize of $1 million in a high-energy contest of nerves, instincts and raw intuition," according to the official NBC "Deal or No Deal" website. The show was Number 2 in ratings Monday night, January 14, 2008, according to a story in the New York Times. Idea popped up in discussion of New Year's Resolutions She was having a group discussion with her clients and they were discussing New Year's Resolutions. The clients said they had quit making resolutions because they have never lasted. Amberee told them, "You have to work for what you want." So she pledged to her clients that she was going to be on "Deal or No Deal," if at all possible. She's filled her application and has found tremendous support from the local community. She's trying to show the whole county is supporting her, not just a few individuals. Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton, Mayor Pat Bell, the Taylor County Judge Executive, and Russell County Judge have all written letters of support. Amberee has promised Patty Dial, a client, that if she gets on the show, Patty can go with her. Patty is very excited, Mrs. Nall said.. Also, Amberee's close pals, Stacey Wilson, Kim Carter, Ashley Stephens, Cozetta Legg, plan to be on the show with her, Mrs. Nall said. Amberee has an original rap song as part of her application. Huge courthouse lawn banner part of campaign There is a huge banner on the courthouse lawn backing her application, and she's getting publicity from radio stations and newspapers. According to the buzz around town, the application is the biggest news to hit Adair County since the Gradyville Flood. Mrs. Nall said, "Just help us get on the show. We need your help," There are petitions at Columbia Wal-Mart, Super America, Gate Petroleum, and several other places. "So just sign the petition and cheer her on," she said.
