GEORGE RICE, is the man behind the recent news from Egypt-sometimes Absher, Adair County, KY, and is the author of the Charity Baptist Church, Jericho, KY. He's also known to everyone in Columbia whose US mail he carried before retiring back to full time farming on KY 551, the Knifley Road. The history, rich with narrative and photos, is sold out except for two work copies, until he gets more printed at South Central Printing in Columbia, KY. is a stunning photo taken by Larry Smith, news anchor at 92.7FM, the WAVE, and South Central Kentucky historian and photography. In the foreground is the Big Four Bridge. The middle one is the most familiar, the John F. Kennedy bridge on I-65, and the far one is the Second Street, or Clark Memorial Bridge.
