Obituary: Grover (Poppy) Pollard, 68, Adair Co., KY native


Mr. Pollard was a member of a large, respected Adair County, KY family, who leaves many relatives here to mourn his passing. Funeral and burial will be in Jeffersonville, IN

Grover (Poppy) Pollard, 68, Jeffersonville, IN, formerly of Adair County, passed away Monday, January 7, 2008, at Clark County Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.

He was the son of the late Mont and Emma Garmon Pollard of Adair County, KY.

The funeral service will be Thursday, January 10, 2008, at 1:00pm at Coots Funeral Home in Jeffersonville, IN, with Rev. Charles Korbert the officiating clergy. Burial will be in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, IN.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Polston Pollard, Jeffersonville, IN, and the following:
  • One son: Tony Pollard of Clarksville, IN

  • One daughter; Lisa Mikel (Timmie), Clarksville, IN

  • Two brothers: Owen Pollard and Robert Pollard, Collumbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Louise Brockman, Columbia, KY; and Catherine Williams, Campbellsville, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mr. Pollard was retired from Old Robisons Foundry, and had worked for Korger's Meat Packing Plant.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 9, 2008, from 4-8pmET and after 9:00amET on Thursday, January 10, 2008, until time for the funeral service at the funeral home.
