Highway 80 Bridge: Does anyone know latest?

LETTERS and FEEDBACK

Ed:

I have been hearing talk that the new bridge on HWY 80, which was first scheduled to open by January 08, has now been moved out to April 08, and also have heard that all construction has now stopped due to state budget issues.

Would there be any way that you could find out if any of these are facts, and where do we need to address our issues if they are true.

Thank you
Phillip Dunbar
Thanks. Everyone is asking about progress on the bridge. It would sound unthinkable for that project to have any delays. Right now having the bridge there may be the biggest road problem, and safety concern in the county. The situation is really causing hardships.

No one has notified CM that the project is on hold for any reason or that the delay is caused by anything other than weather. We'll post what we learn.

The CJE's office (270) 384-4703 may be the first to hear updates, or the local KY Department of Highways (KDH), or the District 8 Office of KDH in Somerset. Could be that word would come through the Beshear Administration Contact in the County, R.L. Walker. CM will post any information received as soon as possible, in the "Today, day & date" feature, where daily and ongoing traffic information is carried.

The the most likely individual to know this or anything going on in Adair County is A.L. Sinclair. When I can't find out anything anywhere else, he's he person I ask; or I go to a country store. The one at Flat Woods is usually really good on road construction issue news. -EW
