Feedback: Parent wants to know if fundraiser needed for CWC

LETTERS and FEEDBACK

Ed,

I am the parent that took a space heater to my child's preschool classroom yesterday (January 2, 2008). I also sent in extra blankets for the little ones for class today.

I am very concerned about the heat situation. I don't care to help out, but I spend a hefty chunk of my income on school taxes through property taxes. I send in extra supplies at the beginning of the year (not because I have a lot of money. I definitely don't, but because there are some that don't have any).

I care about these kids. My question is:Where are the administrators in all this and why have we not been "officially" informed of the status?

I would not have known about the situation in the classroom if another parent that works in my office hadn't stopped by the school and told me what was going on. My 4 year old really doesn't need to be in a situation that I consider dangerous to his health.

Another question that I'd like to pose to the community at large: If the school board and the administrators at Casey cannot (I'm not saying will not) take care of this situation, what can we do as a community to rectify this situation?

I'm not talking about a revolt or anything drastic. I am thinking that maybe if everyone pitched in that could pitch in, we could, as a community, get this system repaired. We fundraise for everything else, why not this?

Just my two cents.

Thanks for letting me vent.
