2007-12-21 - Garneetia Knifley Christmas wonderland, Knifley, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener.
OLD SANTA LOOKS PRETTY CLEVER going up the the roof on top of his elves, at Garnettia's Christmas Wonderland at Knifley, KY, but once up there, he was in for a big surprise. The whole story can be seen during the Christmas season/ Visitors are welcome by the park's creator, the only person one could ever meet happier than Santa Claus, who personally greets visitors with refreshments. Make plenty of time for Knifley and Garneetia Knifley's elaborate display of lights, nativity scenes, and Christmas whimsy, all handcrafted, at 275 J. Knifley Road, (Columbia mail address) but the Knifley Community. Highly recommended by all who've seen it. The displays are programmed to be lighted until 9:30pmCT.

Knifley Road, about a mile north of KY 76, via Eastridge Cemetery Road. Back to the front of the house

2007-12-21 - Knifley, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener.
This APPROACH TO THE CHRISTMAS WONDERLAND AT KNIFLEY, KYis grand, but barely gives a hint of all that Garneetia Knifley has constructed with her own hands, but it does proclaim why she built it: To spread happiness, and the real Reason for the Season, the Birth of Christ.

2007 Christmas at Knifley: Joy to the World

2007-12-21 - Knifley, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener.
JOY TO THE WORLD. A wonderful band of angels are silently singing Joy to the World. Except for the soft music of the wind chimes, visitors to Garnettia Knifley's Christmas Wonderland at Knifley are blessed with the luxury of internal music. There's a Free Spirit quality about the place which reflects the nature of the woman who created it. Visitors go at their own pace, along whatever path their notions take them, with music from inside their own souls. The owner is on the premises, ready to share stories and entertain and imbue some holiday spirit, but that's voluntary--the Knifley commuity way.

2007 Christmas at Knifley: What a Friend We Have in Jesus

2007-12-21 - Knifley, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener.
The ART WITH JESUS AS A SHEPHERD would be compelling even in a neutral background, but it is an unforgettably classic scene in this scene Garnettia Knifley composed against the seasons greens and the reds of poinsettias and Christmas bow against the white trimmed red siding of her garage.

A KENTUCKY CARDINAL sawn by Garnettia Knifley, roosts on a fence post. Around the fields, in the distance, Mrs. Knifley has strung thousands of lights. But don't ask her to put a number on them. She's not into tallies and totals, she just does.

2007-12-22 - Knifley, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener.
BARN EAVE ANGELS are eight feet long. They were completely handmade and by Garnettia Knifley, but she didn't affix them to the barn eave. That took the steady hand of Timmy Humphress aboard a front end loader.
