Officer Jimmy Luttrell was on patrol when the CPD received a call that a stolen 2007 Volvo, being tracked by GPS, was coming into the limits of Columbia on KY 55 (Campbellsville Road). As Officer Luttrell was hearing the report he glanced into his rear view mirror to see a vehicle which matched the description right behind him. "Everybody knows Con-way Freight trucks," Chief Mark D. Harris said. "They big white trucks with a big blue 'Con-way' on sides and on the wind deflectors on the cab. They're through here all the time."A call brought assistance from Chief Mark D. Harris and Officer Gary Roy, and the vehicle was stopped a short time later on Jamestown Street at the nail salon just past the Dream Depot, by Officer Luttrell, who had managed to turn around and pursue the truck. The truck was stopped by Officer Luttrell, who was joined first by Officer Gary Roy. Officers Luttrell and Roy had pulled in behind the truck, and Chief Harris was south a few yards at the Columbia Dairy Dip parking lot. According to Chief Mark Harris, the driver of the vehicle said that he had been dismissed and that he was just bobtailing home with his personal belongings and had meant to just have the company pick up the truck there at his house. The driver of the truck, Robert Aldridge, 62, was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail by officers Gary Roy and Jimmy Luttrell, charged with receiving stolen property over $300. The truck was picked up by Lynn Franklin, Lynn's Service Center, who took the truck to a secret location, known to him, the Columbia Police Department, and Conway Trucking Co. The driver is expected to be released from the Adair County Regional Jail today. Thanks to Chief Mark D. Harris, Sgt. Jason Cross, Sheriff Ralph D.
