Simon Finn Bridge on Kemp Road Closing:Any day now the bridge will be reopened, well ahead of schedule. Everything is a well ahead of Schedule. Work by Adair County's own Garrison Construction Co., Inc., began only a few weeks ago, on October 1, 2007 with a projected finish in six months. In the meantime, The Simon-Finn Bridge has been closed until further notice. For additional information please contact Adair County Judge Meltons Office, (270) 384-4703.

Christmas 2007 in Knifley celebrated on grand scale

SANTA & MRS. CLAUS welcome family company in the Keith and Lana Livermore residence on Union Church Road. The sign is one the Livermores, with the guidance of her son Joey Tucker, received for having the Best Decorated Home in all of Adair County in 2007. The decorations, like the home, are on a grand scale, with six named, theme decorated trees through the home, situated as an aerie overlook most of Adair County from above Knifley. Birds of Kentucky: Geese in airlift over Weed-Keltner Road



2007-12-20 - Weed-Keltner Area - Photo By Robert Fishback. hr>GEESE IN FLIGHT Robert Fishback wrote: "On Weed Keltner RD. in southern Adair County, on Wednesday the 19th, 2007,a flock of geese were at a low altitude, when they hit an airlift and started circling. For about 8 to 10 minutes, they gathered altitude until it was hard to see them." He continued, "The wind currents must be right here, because this isn't an unusual sight." In the larger photo Mr. Fishback sent, there were a total of 28 geese. The photo was cropped to show the birds in more detail, with 11 in the photo above.
