Columbia driver killed in Gentry Mill accident today Passenger taken to Westlake Regional Hospital, then UL Hospital The driver of a 1997 Ford pickup was pronounced dead at the scene of a single vehicle crash which occurred at 10:00amCT, Wednesday morning, December 19, 2007, 7 miles east of Columbia, KY on Gentry Mill Road. He was George Timothy Salyers, Jr. 22, Columbia, KY. A passenger in the vehicle, Richard D. Rogers, 28, Russell Springs, KY, was taken to Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia before being transferred to the University of Louisville Hospital. State police report that Salyers was northbound of Gentry Mill Road at a high rate of speed, when he met another vehicle, left the road way on the right side, overcorrected, crossed the road and went into a ditch line and overturned several times, and was ejected. Neither occupant had a seat belt in use, according to the KSP report. Trooper Donnie Richmond of Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY, investigated the incident.
