Lincoln Heritage minigrant application deadline approaches Grants help fund admission fees, bus rental, substitute teacher cost, or other education-related expense need to make field trip possible By Alice Rogers Special ColumbiaMagazine.com story The application deadline for Lincoln Heritage Education Minigrants is Monday, December 31. These grants are available during the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial period to public or private schools. They are intended to support field trips to Kentucky Lincoln sites in April, May, and June 2008. The grants may be used for trips for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The minimum amount awarded is $100 and the maximum is $350. No match is required. Grant funds may be used for admission fees, bus rental, substitute teacher costs, or other education-related expenses that make the field trip possible. The grants are administered by the Kentucky Historical Society and funded by the Kentucky Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission. They may be used to visit the following Lincoln sites:
