Obituary: Bob Richards, 65, member Freedom Church of God

He was a retired art teacher and had served as pastor of Oak Grove Church of God for seven years

Bob Richards, 65, 94 Wheat Road, Columbia, KY, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2007, at 8:15pm at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, KY, as the result of injuries received in an automobile accident on Friday, December 14, 2007, on KY Highway 80 near the Adair-Russell line.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at 2:00pm, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro Carli Riggs and Bro Eric Gilbert the officiating clergy.



He was born May 2, 1942, the son of he late Everett Richards of Russell County, KY. and Juanita Fox Richards, Russell Springs, KY, who survives.

He is survived by his wife, Treva Bryant Richards, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons: Gregory David Richards, Nashville, TN; and Harold Richards of Central City, KY

  • One brother, David Richards, Smyrna, TN

  • And six grandchildren
Mr. Richards was a retired after a career as an art teacher with the Owensboro school system, Owensboro, KY, and was the minister of the Oak Grove Church of God for seven years and was a member of the Freedom Church of God in Adair County.

The family requests visitation after 5:00pm Monday, December 17, 2007, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, is in charge of arrangements.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Green River Animal Shelter, 455 Jim Blair Road, Columbia, KY, or to the American Heart Association Kentucky Region, 240 Whittington Parkway, Louisville, KY 40222.
