Youngster missing overnight found at 5:00am this morning Successful search in Knifley area for young Casey teen involves Adair County Sheriffs and KSP along with host of local volunteers and units from Adair and three other counties Special ColumbiaMagazine.com story At 5:00am, this morning, Saturday, December 15 a 13-year-old boy, reported missing last night at 9:30pmCT, was located with his 4 wheeler at a house on Knifley Road. An all night search was needed to find the boy. Adair County Sheriff's Department, Kentucky State Police, local volunteers, the Adair County Search and Rescue Team; Green, Taylor, and Marion County Rescues, Knifley and Breeding Fire Departments, wee involved in the successful mission. "It just goes to show how great a community can come together and work so well in a time of need," Adair County Sheriff Ralph Curry said. The Adair County Sheirff's Department received a call around 9:30pmCT, Friday, about a missing 13 year old Casey County boy who was last seen on his 4 wheeler in the Knifley Area. Adair County Deputy Sheriffs Michael Burton and Justin Claywell responded along with KSP Trooper Jamie Richard. After arriving on the scene the sheriff's department decided to call in the Adair County Search and Rescue Team since the young boy had not been seen since 6pmCT and the temperature was getting colder. The sheriff's department then contacted Air Evac to assist in the locating. The Adair County Sheriff's Department sends thanks all the volunteers who came out to help along with Taylor County Rescue, Marion County Rescue, Green County Rescue, Breeding Volunteer Fire Department, Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY; Knifley Volenteer Fire Department and the local stores for their help.
