Jury seated in BJ Burton trial Opening arguments in the trial of Trooper Bramlette J. Burton got underway at the Casey County Justice Center this morning, starting at 8:00amCT/9:00ET. KSP Trooper Burton is charged with reckless homicide in the June 2007 death of Columbia painting contractor Billy Phillips. According to reports from the scene, a large number of Adair Countians, including family members and a large number of law enforcement personel, are on the scene. The trial began yesterday with the selection of 12 people to sit on the trial jury. Judge James G. Weddle is presiding. Special prosecutor Eddie Montgomery, Somerset, represents the Commonwealth; Attorney Steve Schroering of Louisville is the lawyer for Trooper B.J. Burton. This story was posted on 2007-12-04 08:18:15
