Gradyville store returns to more traditional Christmas party

By Ed Waggener
ColumbiaMagazine.com story

The Sixth Annual Gradyville Community Christmas Celebration will be held Saturday, December 15, from 9:00am-10:00amCT, at D & F Grocery, 4731 Edmonton Road, 6.6 miles west of Columbia on KY 80, in Gradyville, KY.

This year, the celebration will return to a format similar to the traditional Gradyville Christmas Celebration, similar to one conducted in the days when the late Janice Moss was proprietor of the store. A snack table will be set up in the store, but the community will forego the elaborate buffets of the past of the past six years.

The Salyers started the event the first December of their ownership, in 2001. March 1, 2008 will be their seventh anniversary as owners of the business.

The Salyers bought the store from the late Janice Moss, While Mrs. Moss was owner, a Christmas party was held during regular business hours, usually on a December Saturday, as the one for Saturday, December 15, will be.
