The Sidney Dunbar Red Maple at Knifley

2007-11-24 - Top of Dunbar Hill, Knifley, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener.
JOHNNY BEARD, above, and his son Jonathan now own what was the Sidney Dunbar place at the top of Dunbar Hill just east of Knifley, KY, and Johnny Beard remembers when the red maple, above, was planted. This year, he says, the color has been the best ever. A lot of travelers along Elkhorn Road comment on the beautiful backyard tree. Others are commenting about how long fall color is holding this year. Dunbar Hill is the high point on the road, where Elkhorn, Tucker Woods, and Caldwell Ridge Roads intersect. No story.
