Adair 1 of 6 counties randomly selected for election audit

Selection of these counties does not imply that irregularities are suspected, Attorney General's office says. It's just luck of the draw.
From Commonwealth News Center
Special ColumbiaMagazine.com story

Adair County is one of six Kentucky counties were chosen in a random drawing to undergo independent inquiries for any potential irregularities that may have occurred during the November 6, 2007 general election.

The other five counties which will be audited are Bell, Fayette, Hart, Ohio and Washington.

The post-election audits, which are required by law (KRS 15.243), will be conducted by the Attorney Generals Office.
In each county, these routine inquiries will include checking election forms and interviewing county officials.

The selection of these counties does not imply that irregularities are suspected. Time for completion of the audits cannot be predicted at this time.

On general election day, the Attorney Generals Kentucky Bureau of Investigation worked in conjunction with the Kentucky State Police to monitor election activities.

KBI agents carried out aggressive statewide election monitoring, with agents assigned to each of Kentuckys six congressional districts.
