ACSO, KSP effort captures Dean Woods man on KY 704

A Dean Woods, Adair County, resident, faces a number of charges, with more pending, after being captured early this morning, South of Columbia, KY, on the Fairplay Road.

The Adair County Sheriff's Department arrested Randell L. Dotson 27, of 508 Dean Woods Road, Columbia, KY, at 2:14amCT, Tuesday, November 19, 2007, in KY 704 area south of Columbia, KY.



The Adair County Sheriff's Department had received a call from Irvin Road with the party reporting they were receiving harrasing calls.

Adair County Deputy Sheriff Michael Burton, along with KSP Sergeant David Gibbs and Trooper Donnie Richmond of KSP Post 15, Columbia, KY, responded to the call.

According to the sheriff's report, Dotson allegedly tried to run over Deputy Michael Burton with his car, then fled on foot.

After a long search, Dotson was finally taken into custody a few hours later.

Dotson was charged with DUI 3rd offense, reckless driving, no operators license, fleeing and evading 1st.

More serious charges are pending for the alleged assault with a car on Deputy Michael Burton.
