The Deer Hunt: Green Co. ahead in hunt totals, around here

Bizarre but apparently true; see chart or visit Telecheck at KY Fish & Wildlife to see for yourself

It would appear almost unfathomable, but here it is 5 days from the end of deer hunting season in vast Adair County (412) square miles, and local hunters have reported two fewer deer harvested than in tiny Green County (289 square miles).

From figures at the Kentucky Fish & Wildlife Telecheck, the deer harvest reported so far, November 20, 2007, at 4:02amCT, in the Greater Adair County Deer Hunt Area, are as follows:
  1. Green County, 678
  2. Adair County, 676
  3. Metcalfe County, 519
  4. Cumberland, 500
  5. Taylor, 461
  6. Casey, 435
  7. Russell, 298
The only sense that can be made of the situation is that quite possibly, Adair County's superior hunters may just not have had time to post all the local statistics as fast as Green Countians have, and that the situation will right itself soon. Check out the figures yourself at the Kentucky Fish & Wildlife: Click Here for Telecheck results.
