First District finally has a Magistrate For the first time since August 14, 2007, the First Magisterial District is represented on the Adair County Fiscal Court. Danny Goodin was certified by the Adair County Board of Elections, was bonded, and took the Kentucky's ancient Oath of Office in brief ceremony in the office of Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton. The court had met with only six members after Magistrate Roger Stephens resigned on August 14, 2007, to take a position with the Kentucky Department of Highways at its District 8 headquarters in Somerset in the Permits Department. Although a Magistrate could have been named by Governor Ernie Fletcher, he did not do so, for whatever reason. The First District includes Eunice-Pellyton, Little Cake and White Oak precincts in the Northeast side of Adair County. This story was posted on 2007-11-09 17:21:45
