Trooper BJ Burton change of venue case at 9:00am today The hearing for a change of venue in the reckless homicide case of KSP Trooper Bramlett J (BJ) Burton is set for 9:00am today in Adair Circuit Court. Burton is charged in the death of Columbia painting contractor Billy Phillips as a result of an incident at the Adair County Regional Jail. Judge James G. Weddle is presiding. Trooper Burton's attorney, Steven J. Schroering has asked that the trial be moved because of the publicity surrounding the case. Acting on the wishes of the Phillips family, Prosecutor Eddie Montgomery of Somerset, KY, has opposed a change of venue. This story was posted on 2007-11-06 06:14:12
