Obituary: Ben Lee Franklin, 88

Adair County native, a member of New Hope Baptist Church and a farm, dies in Greensburg, KY; funeral is there, today

Mr. Ben Lee Franklin, Greensburg, KY, the son of the late Isaac Franklin and Maggie Scott Franklin, was born on Saturday, April 5, 1919, in Adair County, KY, and departed this life on Friday, October 26, 2007, at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill, Greensburg, KY. He was 88 years, 6 months, and 21 days of age.

The funeral services for Mr. Ben Lee Franklin will be today, Monday, October 29, 2007, at 3:00pm, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 South Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Greasy Creek Cemetery. Rev. Cary Dunbar will officiate. Visitation is after 12:00noon, Monday, October 29, 2007, at the funeral home.




He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and was a farmer.

He united in marriage to Rosa Ellen Pruitt on December 4, 1957. She preceded him in death on July 22, 1983.

He was also preceded in death by six brothrs and sisters: Loretta hartfield, Jim Franklin, Paul Franklin, Lilly Bee Crawhorn, Hester Morgan, and Rosie Franklin.

He is survived by a brother, Junus Franklin of Adair County and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are: Carl Franklin, Conrad Franklin, Duke McKinney, Mark McKinney, Bill McKinney, and Willard Morgan.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the family fund or the New Hope Baptist Church. Donations may be made at the funeral home.
