The WAVE newsman says Dancing an unforgettable experience PERFORMING ARTS in COLUMBIA "It even drew a crowd the size of a truck pull."- LARRY SMITH By Larry Smith, 92.7 The WAVE Dancing With The Stars in Columbia. It was the most awesome event in this area in many years. It even drew a crowd the size of a truck pull. I understand that just over 2000 people were in attendance for the event. Even though Kaye Bowman and I didn't win the competition, it was a memory that I will never forget. Our dancing skills were a true challenge. But with a little practice, nearly everyday It turned out to be fun. I would like to say thanks for the friendship that we all established during our training. It was a bond made between every dancer because we were sharing much in common on the dance floor and all faced many challenges. Thanks for Damon Hicks for his endless efforts in working with all of the dancers. Thanks to Rhonda Loy, Renaissance Columbia, and the City of Columbia for asking me to participate. Thanks also to Alan Reed and Jan Royse for motivating me in to dance practice everyday and last but not least, thanks to everybody that came to the event to support us all. I hope the city will ask me to help in some way at next years..."Dancing With The Stars" Columbia style. Sincerely, Larry Smith 92.7 The WAVE This story was posted on 2007-10-15 21:15:38
