Children to vote on Kentucky First Dog's Halloween costume From Commonwealth News Center Special ColumbiaMagazine.com story An online contest will decide First Dogs costume for annual Mansion trick-or-treat.Trick-or-Treat at the Governors Mansion has a new twist this year a contest in which children across the Commonwealth can place their votes to choose a Halloween costume for Abby, the First Dog. Governor and Mrs. Ernie Fletcher will welcome trick-or-treaters to the Governors Mansion on Halloween, October 31, 2007. That night, Abby will reveal which costume received the most votes. As children count down the days to Halloween, the Choose Abbys Halloween Costume contest will provide an exciting way for families to build anticipation for trick-or-treating and have fun together, First Lady Glenna Fletcher said. We encourage everyone to visit the Web site to vote, and we look forward to seeing many children and parents at the Governors Mansion on Halloween. Parents and teachers can help their elementary and middle school-age children vote by visiting Abbys Web site at www.firstlady.ky.gov/abby. While there, children can learn more about Abby, her parents and her home, the Governors Mansion. The annual Trick-or-Treat at the Governors Mansion event will be from 6:00 to 8:00pm on October 31, 2007. The Mansion will be decorated for the occasion with not-so-scary scenes and fun Halloween music. This story was posted on 2007-10-13 15:06:49
