Reward in Emily Griffitt Anderson murder now $3,500 Contributions to the fund for the reward can be made online The Reward for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the murderer of Emily Griffitt Anderson had increased from the original $2,500 to $3,500, a look at the emilygriffittanderson.com website on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 showed. The site has a photo and a picture of Emily Griffitt Anderson, whose body was found on January 7, 2006, in Spartanburg, SC. She had been reported missing December 9, 2005. Her husband, Jerry Anderson, formerly of Cumberland County, KY, was charged with her murder, but the trial in Gastonia, NC, ended with a hung jury, 11-1 in favor of acquital. He is now free on $150,000 bond in Sawmills, NC. Emily Anderson was born in Fayette County, the daughter of Dr. Joseph Griffith and Amanda Griffitt. She grew up in Adair County with an older sister, Dee, who remained in Adair County. A brother, Mike is a veterinarian living in Jessamine County, KY.
