2007 Downtown Days - October 12 & 13 expanded this year

Re-enactment of the robbery of the Bank of Columbia is still centerpiece, but excitement is also centered around new features, "Dancing with the Stars," Guitar contest, corn toss, and the Dream Depot's spectacularly successful "Oldies But Goodies." Links below

The schedule for Downtown Days is complete now. It start at 3:00pmCt on Friday, October 12, when the vendor booths open and run through "Dancing with the Stars," a new event, starting at 7:00pmCT at Adair County Middle School.

Most of the old favorites will be back, including the Saturday noon re-enactment of the James-Younger Robbery of the Bank of Columbia, which is always a crowd pleaser.




The kiddie train ride will be back and there will be a kids carnival with inflatables and a play palace.

Music lovers will have a wide range to hear or to choose from among the varied offerings, from Bluegrass gospel, old time country, choir, bluegrass rock and roll, contemporary Christian, a jam fest with musical lawmen Mark Harris, Kevin Atwood, and Bill Bailey; and a guitar contest.

Mid-afternoon Saturday, the Dream Depot will have its sixth, but always new and improved, performance of "Oldies but Goodies," Columbia's answer to Greater Tuna. The show will start at 2:00pm.

Athletes will get to take part in a Saturday morning 5K run starting at 8:00amCT from the Chamber Building at Burkesville & Fortune Streets.

Athletes can also compete in Downtown Days first ever corn toss tournament. It takes place starting at 9:15am behind the Chamber Building in the parking lot on East Fortune Street.

A new gymnastics and dance group from Tumble Towne USA will appear at 11:00amCT.
