Newly arrived incomer from Florida needs information Can anybody out there shed more light on the Spurlock Trio? Madge, Clifford and Lena? Madge Spurlock Barnett? Acme Record & Radio Corporations of Columbia, KY? The 78 rpm promo My Sins Are Gone? Tom Newton at over in Edmonton needs to know To the editor, ColumbiaMagazine.com: Mr. Tom Newton has recently moved here from Florida. He has opened a very unique nostalgic music store in Edmonton. He recently purchased a large amount of old albums and in that group was a old 78 promo recorded at ACME Record & Radio Corporations at Columbia, KY. The record was My Sins are Gone by the Spurlock Trio: Clifford, Lena and Madge. The flip side is Whispering Hope played on the accordion by Madge Spurlock Barnett. Mr. Newton is a history buff and would like to know the history behind this studio, etc. He came to my office with the record and asked if there was a museum in Columbia that he could donate the record to. I told him that I had two good contacts that would let me know a good place he could give the record. Please let me know if you know any information about this recording studio and a good place to donate the record. Thanks for your help with this matter.
