Four Wethington brothers, their sister served in WWII Brenda Goode sent a note about her Wethington family which is quite remarkable. She wrote: "Could you please add that Joseph "Jodie" Wethington, Luard Wethington, Verlin Wethington, Richard Wethington and Imogene Ward all served in WWII and were brothers and sister, the children of Leonard and Mary Green Wethington. Their names are already listed. However, the above is I think a worthy mention! Thank you in advance." Of course it is very much worthy of mention, and has been added. It is the kind of information which makes reading this list similarly chilling to beholding the Vietnam Veterans Well or standing before any shrine. It is hard to just read the names without tears. There are many families who have contributed disportionately to the welfare of the American way of life. This family of heroes is one of them. To check the updated list, with the Leonard and Mary Green Wethington family note, Click Here for "Honoring Adair County Veterans who have served our country." Our thanks to Brenda Goode and to everyone who is helping with this project. -EW This story was posted on 2007-09-30 11:55:14
