Metcalfe KHD barn lucky recipient of KYTC dump truck With two photos Special ColumbiaMagazine.com story Due to a small surplus in equipment funds, each district across the Commonwealth will receive a new dump truck from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. For District 3, Bowling Green, Metcalfe County was the lucky recipient for the new vehicle that will also be used for salting and plowing. Metcalfe County has historically been the leader in clearing roads in snow times, a position the department has held since the days of Tom B. Janes and Glen Sparks. All of the KYTC crew members in Metcalfe County do a fantastic job for the transportation cabinet and it is reflected in the work they do everyday, Marc Williams, Kentucky Commissioner of Highways, said. We are excited to be able to bring this new truck to Metcalfe County. In addition to the new dump truck, Larry Froedge of the Metcalfe County State Highway Department was presented with a service award for his 20 years of employment as a Highway Equipment Operator IV with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
