Kimberly Ann & Billy Bob: Saga takes sad turn, but ends happily

With one photo

By Ed Waggener
Special ColumbiaMagazine.com story

For Kimberly Ann Stargel, it was love at first sight for Billy Bob.

The relationship had a moment of separation. And Kimberly Ann was, expectedly, depressed. So depressed, her other closest loved ones became concerned for her.

You see, that first year after their first encounter had been one of those most beautiful stories of requited love.

When Billy Bob was born, his mom had no milk. "My boyfriend and I raised him for the landlord," Kim said. They nursed the little fellow by hand, and he responded so well to their care.""But last year, the landlord sold him and I was so depressed," she said.

She missed the little mule so much it concerned her son and boyfriend.

"They bought him back for me for Christmas," she said. "That was one of the happiest Christmases I ever had," she remembers.

"He is an adorable pet. He's very special," she says. "He is very much loved."

Whatever Billy Bob wants, Billy Bob gets, and that can be very fancy. "He loves cheesecake and cookies," Kim says, "And, like any mule, he loves apples."

Spoiled, as he should be. It's hard to decide which one thinks they have the better of the deal: Kim or Billy Bob.

Mules don't talk, but if you ask Kim Stargel, she can talk, and, she'll quickly tell you, "I do."

She'd likely be soundly contradicted, however, if Billy Bob could have his say. But then, mules don't talk.
