Trap shoot for 2008 Adair Crusade raises nearly $2,000

Event demonstrates again the giving hearts of Adair Countians and why Columbia is "A Great Place to Call Home." $1,923 raised for the 2008 Adair County Crusade for Children. Winners of corn toss tournament give winnings back to crusade. It was a great day for kids, for a fundraiser where every dollar raised in Adair County is returned in the form of grants to help Adair County kids!

The Adair Co Fire Dept. is proud to report that we raised a total of $1,923.00 for the 2008 Adair County Crusade for Children at the trap shoot and corn toss tournament held at the Adair County Sportsman's Lake today, Saturday, September 29, 2007.

There were several big winners today, including the following:


  • Winner of the Remington 870 youth shotgun was Ryan White of Liberty, KY

  • Winner of the Remington 870 Wingmaster shotgun was Shannon White of Liberty, KY

  • Winner of the Corn Toss Tournament were Doug Matney and Donnie Ford, both of Columbia, KY who were kind enough to give their winnings back to the Crusade.
The Adair County Fire Department and the Crusade for Children would like to thank the following sponsors, without whose support this great day would not have been possible, and would personally like to thank Downey's Gun and Pawn and everyone who purchased tickets. The wonderful sponsors include the following:

Corn Toss Winners return prize to 2008 ACFD Crusade

Winners of the Corn Toss Tournament were Donnie Ford and Doug Matney, both of Columbia, KY, who were kind enough to donate their winnings back to the Crusade. With them, holding the money they returned, is Adair County Assistant Fire Chief Brandon Lewis.
