Penalty calls in final plays cost ACHS 12-10 victory

Adair loses heartbreaker to Casey County 13-12

Special ColumbiaMagazine.com story

The Indians lost a hard fought game to the Casey County Rebels in a heartbreaker. With seconds on the clock and the Indians ahead 12-10, the Rebels attempted a field goal kick that was no good, but a flag was on the play.

The penalty, roughing the kicker, was called on the Indians and the Rebels were allowed to attempt the field goal again. With the kick in the air, the Indians offense broke through the Rebels line and blocked the kick, but another flag was thrown against the Indians.

Off-sides against Adair was called, and the Rebels got another chance at a field goal. This time the Indians luck ran out, and third time was the charm as the kick was good.

Everyones high hopes were dashed in the last seconds of the game, but our boys have no need to hang their heads as all of them played a great game.

The game may not have ended in a win for the Indians, but there is much to look foward to next week as they take on Edmonson County (2-4) here at home.
