Special ColumbiaMagazine.com story

The Adair County Girls' Golf team shows improvement at Regional Tournament but did not qualify or have any individuals qualify for the State Tournament in play at Danville Country Club yesterday, Monday, September 24, 2007.

Adair shot a 385 compared to a 483 a year ago. Ninety - eight strokes is a big gain in a year. I feel good about our score as a team.

Natalie Sneed shot the team's best score with an 86, improving her score from last year by 47 strokes. Natalie played tremendous and only missed the cut by 2 strokes.

Lauren Goodin finished with an 88.

Ashley Goodin struggled early, but finished with a 98. Ashley improved her score from last year by 24 strokes.

Natalie Curry shot right at her average with a 113, but improved by 27 strokes from last year's regional.

I really feel for Lauren and Natalie because they were close but just shy of qualifying. They were both terribly disappointed.

I am already looking forward to next year in anticipation of continued improvement in our girls' golf program.

Thanks to all the parents and grandparents for their support throughout the season.

Thanks to all the news media for your support and coverage of our program.
