45 kids participate in Annual GRL Fishing Derby

By Larry Lemmon

On Saturday, September 22, 2007, approximately 45 children and adults came out to participate in Green River Lake's Annual Fishing Derby.

The fishing derby is put on by the US Army Corps of Engineers in conjunction with The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife and was held at the Green River Lake State Park.

Participants at the event were provided with fishing poles, tackle and bait to try their hand at catching the big one.

Several fish were caught and some folks learned the skill of fishing for the first time, which made the event worthwhile. Pictured below are some of the lucky participants.
