Taylor Countian Stan Cave gets additional Governor Ernie Fletcher has asked his Chief of Staff, Stan Cave, to act as budget director until a permanent director is named. Cave is a next door neighbor to Adair Countians, from Taylor County. Cave will continue to serve as the Governor's Chief of Staff. His salary will remain the same. "As our cabinets and agencies begin to prepare for the 2008 budget session, it is critical that we have a leader in place to ensure that those preparations run smoothly and efficiently," said Governor Fletcher. "Stan's experience in the Kentucky Legislature and his knowledge of all aspects of state government make him a great fit to act as budget director until the position is filled on a permanent basis." A Lexington attorney, Cave joined the Fletcher administration in December 2004 as the Governor's chief of staff. He is a former Republican caucus chairman in the Kentucky House of Representatives and served in the Legislature from 1993 to 2000, where he gained firsthand knowledge of the state's budget process. The position of budget director was vacated earlier this month when former budget director Brad Cowgill's was selected as interim president of the Council on Postsecondary Education. From Capitol News Center This story was posted on 2007-09-18 03:33:54
