LWC to host 5 days for prospective students & families

By Duane Bonifer, LWC Director of Public Affairs

Prospective students and their families will have five opportunities to attend one of Lindsey Wilson College's visitation days during the 2007-08 school year.

The college will host visitation days on: October 20, 2007; November 17, 2007; January 26, 2008; March 29, 2008; and April 19, 2008. The March 29 event is a talent showcase, which allows student-athletes, vocalists, pep band musicians and artists to show off their talents.

The days -- which are open to area high school juniors and seniors and their families -- give prospective students and their families a close-up look of undergraduate life at Lindsey Wilson.

The five days will be held from 9 a.m.-noon CT. They will begin in the Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center.

"Attending a visitation day is one of the best ways to learn what a college is all about," Lindsey Wilson Director of Admissions Charity Ferguson sa9d. "You get a chance to tour the campus, meet with faculty and staff, learn about student life, and ask anything you want to know about a college.

"Visitation days are also a great opportunity to discover how you can afford a college education because at Lindsey Wilson's visitation days, financial aid personnel are on hand to explain the many programs that make a college education affordable."Students who attend one of Lindsey Wilson's visitation days also can meet with the college's athletic coaches and advisers to student organizations.

"Being involved is a central part of college life, and Lindsey Wilson offers dozens of sports teams, clubs and organizations that meet students' interests," Ferguson said.

And it's never too early to start the college-search process."There is a perception that visitation days are limited to high school seniors and their families, but visitation days are also excellent opportunities for high school underclassmen and their families to learn about the college process," Ferguson said. "Getting an early start can make the senior year of high school a little less stressful for both the student and the family."

Lindsey Wilson visitation days are open to all high school students and their families. A complimentary lunch will be served in the college's award-winning Cranmer Dining & Conference Center. To make reservations, contact the Lindsey Wilson Office of Admissions at (800) 264-0138, (270) 384-8100 or info@lindsey.edu, or go to www.lindsey.edu.
