There is no word yet of a new trial for her husband, Jerry Anderson, whose trial for her murder ended in a mistrial according to an article by Linda Payne, Staff Writer in the Lenoir, NC. News-Topic. The mistrial was declared Friday, July 20, 2007, seven weeks ago today. According to the same News-Topic story "Reward offered for murder info",, the Caldwell County Sheriff's Department is still investigating the case. A website, EmilyGriffittanderson.com, has been set up, seeking A information that leads to the arrest and conviction of her murderer, with a $2,500 reward being offered. The site gives a brief biography of Emily Griffitt Anderson. It dates her life from July 8, 1956 to December 29, 2005, the day her husband, Jerry Anderson reported her missing. Her remains were found in near Spartanburg, SC, on January 5, 2006. Jerry Anderson was tried in Gastonia, NC, for the murder, but a mistrial was declared when the jurors, deadlocked 11-1 in favor of acquittal, could not reach a verdict. The website seeks additional funds to help with the pursuit of information, and offers payment options through Paypal, with buttons for donations of $25, $50, and $100.
