Steven Skaggs will speak at CU Chapel September 19, 2007

Campbellsville University will host Steven Skaggs, minister of music at Immanuel Baptist Church in Paducah, as the guest speaker for chapel on Wednesday, September 19 at 10amET/9amCT, at Ransdell Chapel.

The convocation is free and open to the public.



Skaggs received his bachelor of music in church music from Campbellsville University in 1990, and his master of arts in church music from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1994.

Skaggs also attended Morehead State University, and he is a 1971 graduate of LaRue County High School.

Skaggs has served as an officer for both the Kentucky Baptist Music Conference and the Kentucky Baptist Men's Chorale since 2002.

He is also a member of the Baptist Church Music Conference, the American Choral Directors Association and the Chorister's Guild.

He is married to Shirley Elliott Skaggs and they have a son, Matthew Joel, and live in Paducah. He is the son of the late Joel and Elizabeth Skaggs, formerly of LaRue County.
