Grass fire consumes one acre, after trash fire gets out of control. Fire department reminds public that Judge Melton's ban of outdoor burning remains in effect

Nine member of the Adair County Fire Department battled a grass fire for one-half hour this afternoon in withering heat to contain a blaze which occurred as a result of burning trash.



One acre of land burned in the fire at 5164 Sano Road on property belonging to Gary Coffey.

The Adair County Fire Department reminds everyone that, due to the very dry conditions, Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton signed a ban late last week on all outdoor burning in Adair County until further notice. At this time, the ban remains is in effect.

(PSA)Adair County Fire Dept. dues are payable for July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008Fire dues for the Adair County Fire Department run from July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008 and are now due and payable. Send to PO Box 96, Columbia, KY 42728, or drop off in our drop box on the side of the fire station on Merchant Street in Columbia, or pay to any firemen.
