Adair Fireman battle two blazes on Monday Special Reminders: EMERGENCY DROUGHT MEASURES. : Burning Ban, 15% water use reduction order in effect1) Ann issues executive order banning open burning and 2) Columbia, ACWD Managers ask 15% water use reduction End Special Reminders 1) Near Garlin, a 3-4 acre field fire, close to Columbia. 2) Residential fire near Green County line By Donald Hare, Public Information Officer, Adair County Fire Department The Adair County Fire Department responded to two calls on Monday: At 2:22pm CT: Three to four acres of land from a dozer pile had caught on fire on TP Cundiff Road off Highway 206. The land is owned by Mike Hatcher. Eight firemen responded and were on the scene for around one hour. At 6:19pm CT: House fire at 1609 Cedar Grove Road, HWY 532 off of HWY 61 North in the Clay Ridge area. The house was occupied by Diane McClister. No one was home at time of blaze. The cause of the 1609 Cedar Grove Road fire is under investigation. Twelve firemen were on the scene there for around two hours. The house, which is owned by Jimmy and Patricia Stapp, received moderate to heavy damage during the fire. (PSA)Adair County Fire Dept. dues are payable for July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008Fire dues for the Adair County Fire Department run from July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008 and are now due and payable. Send to PO Box 96, Columbia, KY 42728, or drop off in our drop box on the side of the fire station on Merchant Street in Columbia, or pay to any firemen.
