Letter: Thinks Lindsey has additional assets to share

Dear Editor and citizens of Adair County,

While traveling this great country of ours, I have noticed that many local college affiliates in local communities offer sports clinics to work with the youth of that community.

We have Lindsey Wilson College right here in our midst. Lindsey Wilson recruits players from all over the world for various athletics.

I do not feel that it would be asking too much for these players of the various sports to offer clinics at a nominal fee or free for the youth athletic organizations in our community.

The college students of Lindsey Wilson would be able to offer the leadership and training techniques that may help some of our young athletes have viable opportunities in their future.

I know our children do not have many options due to the economic strife that strangles our area. I do believe that our children would benefit tremendously from the tutoring of many of the gifted athletes that attend Lindsey Wilson College.

Lindsey Wilson has one of the best soccer programs in the United States and a very good basketball, and baseball program as well. I would like for the Administrators and athletes at Lindsey Wilson College to please consider giving back to our humble community and offer our children an opportunity.

Sincerely,

Mr. and Mrs. Allen Owens and family
