August Meeting underway at Eunice Church of God

If you go, and Sister Sharon Payne sings, be sure you're seated. You'll be so moved it will simply blow you away- LINDA WAGGENER, CM

One of Adair County's longest running traditions, the August Meeting, is underway now at one of America's most beautiful churches, the Eunice Church of God, located 13 miles east of Columbia, KY, at 12515 Liberty Road, at the foot of Dug Hill, at the intersection of 206 and the Dunnville Road.

Services started Friday, August 17, 2007, and continue each evening at 6:30pmCT/5:30ET through Friday, August 24, 2007. Rev. Joe Payne and others will be speaking each evening. On Wednesday, August 22 through the close on Friday, August 24, 2007, Elder D.J. Ward will be the speaker.

Music will be provided by the the congregation and special singers, with some special vocals by the incomparable Sharon Payne, who will also be the pianist for the meeting.

The once all-black church always had worshippers of all races attend. Today, however white folks no longer have to stand and look through the windows to share in the service. Now they are invited inside to join in reverence and awe a traditional country service where the power of God's eternal grace is present throughout the year, but has special meaning at the August Meeting.
