Slaking thirsts and water issues abound in South Central Kentucky, from water shortages to alcoholic beverage vote this November 6, in Glasgow, KY, are in today's Top 11 Area News Links. Drought increasing problems at Wolf Creek Dam
A weekly update on the Wolf Creek Dam website tells of increasing problems with downstream fishlife and has a report which includes this entry "We experienced a shallow-seated slope failure along the new access road to the launching ramp. The failure occurred in a 3-4 foot thick veneer along a weathered shale surface approxi- mately 300 feet long. Parts of Hart County were issued Boil Water Advisories, according to a story in the Glasgow Daily Times online: Hart Advised to Boil Water posted August 15, 2007, at 1:53pm CT in the Glasgow Daily Times online. The story does not say how well known to ColumbiaMagazine.com readers Hart Countian, Tom Chaney, is affected. (Guntown Mountain is across the line in Barren County, so this story doesn't apply to Columbia's Stanley Lawson, either)
