Childrens' church very inspirational

By Linda Waggener

No matter whether in my home church, Columbia United Methodist, or with my grandchildren in Shelbyville Centenary United Methodist Church or at Edmonton United Methodist Church with my Mom, or even growing up in the Sulphur Well UMC, some of the most meaningful moments have always been during the Childrens' service, and this morning was no different.

When Bro. David Alexander had all the little ones turn to the adult congregation, wave good morning and remind us, "Jesus loves you!" it delivered a powerful blessing and set the tone for an inspirational service.

Things got more serious for the grown-ups when he gave us the challenge, "are you ready?" His reminder was that life is very short and while we pray for those families who have lost loved ones this week, we must remember to stay connected in our own hearts and be ready ourselves every moment.

"You never know when that bridge is going to fall," he said, "stay ready to live. Stay ready to die."

The Columbia United Methodist Church is located two blocks off the square on Burkesville Street and welcomes everyone to come anytime, especially for Sunday morning meetings at 10 a.m.
