Adair Little League adds Fall Ball schedule for 2007

By Scott Bennett

Adair County Little League Baseball, Inc. would like to announce for the first time ever they will be having a Fall Ball League to be played this fall.

The league is not meant to take away from the other youth sport activities normally played during the fall. We are planning to play the games on Sunday afternoon in baseball and Saturday afternoon in softball to provide youth involved in other fall sports the ability to play without giving up football or soccer.

There will be no mandatory practice times for the fall league, just coming to the park and playing in an organized manner At this time, the games are planned to begin September 8th and 9th and run each weekend until October 28th.

Fall Ball is a concept that is growing around the country and it is meant to allow kids the opportunity for new players to be introduced to the game or experienced players an avenue of continued play in a non competitive atmosphere during the late summer and fall months which usually provide excellent baseball weather.

Fall Ball will be open to anyone ages 6-11 years old and will have coach pitch (6-7 year olds), Minor League (8-9 year olds) and Major League (10-11 year old) divisions.

There will be limited space available for players due to scheduling restraints on Saturday and Sundays, so if you are interested please sign up early.

Signups will be held Tuesday, August 14 from 5:007:00 pm, Saturday, August 18, from 9:0012:00, and Tuesday, August 21 from 5:007:00 pm at the Joe Johnson Little League Park Concession Stand.

A $20 entry fee will be charged and each player will receive a t-shirt to play in.

We are also in need of volunteers to help run the softball league at this time.

Contact Scott Bennett, 270-250-5091, for any questions.
