Thirza Peevey favors bringing back the trees To ColumbiaMagazine.com: Love the picture of old Burkesville street.. I wonder what could be done about replanting shade trees along that road and others in Columbia? I can't believe how hot it is along Jamestown Street now that most of the trees are gone. It doesn't seem that long ago that what is now Walmart sat in the middle of fields behind an old welding shop. It doesn't seem that long that there were trees along the road from there to the old Dairy Queen. It seems that a lot of people could save a bunch of money on A/C if the trees were replanted. s/Thirza Peevey Related: Old postcard shows a more inviting, prettier Burkesville Street This story was posted on 2007-08-09 18:45:43
