Knifley-Pellyton Area VFD plans Community Fire Preventiion Day

By Jason Rector

The Knifley-Pellyton Area Volunteer Fire Department will be having a Community Fire Prevention day on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at their main station, 6130 Elkhorn Road, Knifley, KY, from 10am till 4pm CT.

This event is planned to involve members of the community of all ages from children, teenagers, adults, and seniors.

Members of the community will be able to meet local firefighters of their community, tour the fire station, meet various other local emergency service agencies, while also being able to meet local and surrounding community service providers such as electric companies, gas pipe line companies, law enforcement agencies, local health/public safety agencies, local government service agencies, American Red Cross, etc.

Fun fire and safety prevention activities are planned for the kids, while door prizes, safety information, refreshments, etc will be available for everyone.

This is a great opportunity to get connected in your community volunteer fire department, while learning what services your local fire department can provide your family in an emergency. For more information on the Knifley-Pellyton Area Volunteer Fire Department, feel free to contact any of its firefighters or check us out on the web at KAVD
